Registration Details

REGISTRATION COSTS

  • AUD $5,454 per person twin share accommodation (rooms and tents).

Please contact us for single supplement if required.

There is no GST as the entire activity is conducted offshore.

We will require a 25% deposit at the time of booking to secure a place with the balance due by 4th July 2014.

Please be aware that as there are many logistical preparations and costs that we incur at an early stage the deposit is non refundable if you choose to make a subsequent cancellation and we cannot find a replacement to take your place. Good travel insurance should cover you for such an eventuality and it is worth checking with your provider. Of course if for any reason we were forced to cancel the meeting all monies paid to us would be refunded in full. Please see the registration form for details of the MOTE cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION NOTICE AND CHARGES

Cancellation of confirmed bookings is to be in writing. Please see the registration form regarding penalties that will apply on cancellation.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is strongly recommended that all travellers obtain travel insurance against cancellation or amendment fees as well as providing sufficient medical cover. This should be taken out at the time of booking to ensure you are adequately covered. Not all travel insurance offers the same benefits so ensure you read the Product Disclosure Statements carefully and pick a policy that best meets your needs. Note that travel insurance will not provide cover if you cancel simply because you have changed your mind about the trip.

NUMBERS

Initially we are restricted to a maximum of 24 people but we will endeavour to increase numbers if there is greater interest.

EXTRA NIGHTS

In the past many delegates chose to either arrive early or stay on after the meeting . Please be aware that we do not hold any hotel reservations outside of the conference period. However, we are happy to put you in touch with our in-country agents who can help you in this regard. If you are staying extra nights it is also worth trying to source accommodation yourself. Most hotels are on the internet and easily accessible.

CME

Past meetings were accredited for MOPS points by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and CPD points by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. We will be applying for this again in 2014.

HOW HARD?

At the Kasbah there are two half day walks included leaving directly from the hotel. The main trek itself will be four consecutive days walking between 6 and 9 hours. There are some steep ascents and descents which can be tough on the knees, and as the trek goes on you will gain relatively high altitude (over 4,000m).At this time of year, especially at the lower altitudes, the heat can still be very strong in the middle part of the day (day time temperatures approx 30 degrees C)You should be used to and enjoy hill walking to get the most out of this trip. Some of the days are tough, but your main bags are carried by mules.
